FUNDING OPPORTUNITY
LET YOUR PARENTS KNOW SPREAD THE WORD/ INFORM ANYONE WE MAY HAVE MISSED
MEMO FROM ANDREW TYRRELL
As you all know from my presentation at the Annual General Meeting, one of the objectives for this year was to seek out funding oppourtunities. I am grateful that the Canadian Carribean Association of Halton (CCAH) located in Oakville has responded positively to our request. The attached letter provides the details of the fundraising oppourtunity they have offered the Track Club.
In light of this year's focus on youth the CCAH has designated the Track Club as the Not-For-Profit community organization it will donate funds to from its 32nd Annual Awards Dinner and Dance on May 2, 2009. The funding is two-fold. First the Club shares in a 50/50 split of the proceeds from a raffle draw and silent auction. Secondly, CCAH returns $10 from each ticket sold to the dinner and dance. As the letter indicates, last year $2,700 from this event was donated to charity. And they are hoping to exceed that total this year.
Here is how you can get involved. Please let me know if either you, your company, or anyone of your contacts are able to donate new or never been used items for the silent auction. Also, I would like to have at least a table of 10 from the Track Club in attendance. I already have 5 people who intend to attend. Tickets are $65 for adults, $35 for children. This includes food and entertainment. Please respond to whether you are interested in attending. More details of the function can be obtained from the ccah.ca website.
I can be reached at work (416) 947-3456, or at home (905) 825-8695 or via return e-mail.
Thanks
Andrew Tyrrell
